The Bureau of Fire
Prevention is responsible for enforcement of the New Jersey Uniform Fire
Code.
The Bureau also issues Permits required for special
events such as Fireworks displays.

FOR RESIDENTS WHO RESIDE IN THEIR OWN HOMES. STATE LAW REQUIRES THAT
LANDLORDS PROVIDE SMOKE DETECTORS IN RENTAL PROPERTIES. PLEASE CONTACT
THE BUREAU AT 732 462-3626 FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION OR TO REPORT A
MISSING OR NON-FUNCTIONING SMOKE DETECTOR IN A RENTAL UNIT.
